Tom Carey

Protect Our Rural Character.
Make Ixonia More Liveable.
Tom Carey for Town Supervisor
U.S. Coast Guard veteran. Husband. Dad. Ixonia neighbor.
I’m running for Town Supervisor because Ixonia is worth protecting —
and worth improving. My wife Tiffany and I chose Ixonia, put down roots
here, and built our family’s life here. We built our sheep farm with our
own hands. Our kids go to school here. We are committed to Ixonia
for the long haul.
Ixonia is a great place to live. But too often, daily life happens
somewhere else — groceries, coffee, kids’ activities, basic errands,
and places to gather with neighbors. For a lot of families, Ixonia can
feel more like a place to come home to than a place to live everyday life.
I believe Ixonia can protect what makes this town special while doing a
better job serving the people who already live here.
My goal is simple: protect our rural character and support the right kind
of growth and practical improvements that make life here better.

Why I’m Running
I’m running because I care deeply about Ixonia’s future.
Ixonia should not have to choose between staying rural and working better for the people who live here now. We can do both.
We can protect farmland, respect property owners, and preserve the character that makes Ixonia different from the larger communities around us. We can also support the kinds of small businesses, local services, recreation, and gathering places that make a town feel more connected and more liveable.
I am not running to turn Ixonia into somewhere else. I’m running because I want Ixonia to be the best version of itself: rural in character, careful in planning, and stronger in the everyday things that help families and neighbors feel connected to where they live.
What I’ll Focus On
-
Protect rural character with planning that safeguards farmland, roads, and taxpayers
-
Support the right kind of business growth — coffee shops, small retail, restaurants, local services, and gathering places that fit Ixonia
-
Finish the bike trail and improve parks, recreation, and family amenities
-
Make it easier for residents to stay informed and involved
-
Keep town government steady, respectful, and focused on common sense
What That Means for Ixonia
Ixonia has grown, and many families here still leave town for work, errands, and everyday needs. That is part of life in a bedroom community. But that does not mean Ixonia should settle for being only a place people sleep between drives somewhere else.
We should protect the rural character that people love about this town while also supporting the kinds of improvements that make daily life easier and community life stronger.
That means supporting the right kinds of local businesses and services. It means finishing the bike trail. It means stronger parks and recreation. It means giving families and longtime residents more reasons to spend time here, not just live here.
Good growth should make life better, not harder.
About Tom
Tom Carey is a U.S. Coast Guard veteran and a corporate risk and compliance executive. His work is about identifying risk, making clear plans, protecting budgets, and being accountable for results. Those skills matter in town government too.
Tom and Tiffany built their sheep farm in Ixonia with their own hands and are raising their family here. Their children attend the local elementary school, and their family is committed to this town for the long haul.
Tom brings a service-first approach to public office: listen carefully, plan responsibly, communicate clearly, and treat people with respect.
Why Tom’s Priorities Fit Ixonia
Ixonia does not need growth for growth’s sake. It needs the right kind of growth.
That means small businesses and everyday services that make life easier for residents. It means protecting taxpayers from poorly planned projects that strain roads or chip away at farmland. It means practical improvements that strengthen community life without changing the character of the town.
Tom supports the kind of growth that fits Ixonia — not growth that makes daily life worse.
A Town We Can All Belong To
Ixonia includes longtime families, newer residents, subdivision neighborhoods, and rural roads. We do not all come from the same background, but we all share a stake in the future of this town.
Tom wants to help build an Ixonia where more residents feel connected to the community, where families have more reasons to spend time in town, and where neighbors feel heard and respected even when they disagree.
A stronger Ixonia does not mean becoming a different town. It means doing a better job of serving the people who already call this place home.
